The Sky Hawk was a great vehicle when I was a kid, cheap, featured a lot in the cartoon and fit with most other playsets. This combined with the Transportable Tactical Battle Platform made for a fantastic combination...a temp base that fit anywhere, and a small aircraft that could land on it's landing pad. I loved that vehicle enough that I've customized two for the modern Joes to fly, so to say that I've been looking forward to this release is an understatement.
The new Modern era G.I.Joe Ghost H.A.W.K. VSTOL (Vertical Short Take Off and Landing) delivers the goods. Unlike most of the new vehicles which utilize old molds with new tooling added, this is 100% brand new. Sure, it is damn close to the old, but much better. The problems with the old have been addressed, mainly the cockpit was better designed for opening...the old version had two small tabs upon which the entire cockpit would pivot, and tend to break. The side panels also are snugger which prevents them from coming off. Not a common problem with the old, but it did happen now and then. The landing skids are larger and sturdier and now support foot pegs for up to four additional figures to ride. The missiles look much more aggressive and nasty, and also have two new areas on which to store them: the original launching spot under the skids, plus under the wing supports and on the side panels. The Ghost H.A.W.K. still has the rotating engines that have much more detail as does the rest of the craft. The cockpit has more detailing too including the much needed control stick. The figure seats well and doesn't look bad. The rotating 20MM cannons on the underside are still present and swing from side to side. Another nice new addition is a removable side panel for access to the ships inner workings.
If I was to make a complaint, it would be the lack of an open area on the back of the engines, though this is not nearly enough of a complaint to take anything away from this impressive vehicle.

Lift Ticket is an update to the original of the same name that was a pack in with the Tomahawk released in 1986. The body is similar to Mutt as it is a Viper torso with birthing hips legs. Arms appear to be new, but should I be wrong, I know I can count on you guys to correct me. The head is a new sculpt and while I certainly figured that Hasbro would not be able to make one as bad os the original release, I was wrong. Same stupid lopsided grin, and to top it off, the underside of the chin is not hollowed out enough for him to rest his head an angle that isn't looking to the sky. He comes with his trademark helmet, which features a movable mic and is fantastic, and a knife. His vest is rather large and cumbersome, and the plastic is stiff. While he does fit fine in the cockpit of the Ghost H.A.W.K., I wonder if another figure will look cooler in it.
As a pilot for the GHOST H.A.W.K., he will work fine, but his head is terrible and will be replaced.

How does Pilot Scarlett look?
I'm thinking I'm going to replace Lift Ticket with her.
The Skyhawk was my favorite vehicle and I'm so glad they made this awesome new one. I'm going to get alot of these bad boys.

I have to say that LIFT TICKET is a prime contender for "worst 25th/modern era release yet" in my opinion. Atrocious!
Cool vehicle though.
