So I had to snap at the chrome and gold plated Storm Shadows that have been talked about here and there. I ordered them, and after a week I received them today. I have to say I'm actually impressed with the overall quality of these. I decided to take one apart to investigate them a little more. They are plated inside and out on every piece. They have the original date stamp of 1984, and they are also composed of the same hard plastic mixture from the eighties. The thumbs don't flex like the last ARAH figs. The hands and faces also have the better, tighter detailing from the 80's figures that was lost in the 1998 and up ARAH line. The plastic under the plating (seen where knees and shoulders have rubbed during assembly) is purple on the torso, black on the arms, and dark gray on the legs. The screws are black. Due to the quality being so high, it is hard to call the origin of these. They could be made by someone at the plant after hours, or it could have been a scrapped or leaked convention item. Who knows? They were shipped from Shanghai. Either way, I'm glad I picked them up. They are actually pretty cool.
