With G. I. Joe: Retaliation just 4 months away, Hasbro is now applying for relevant Trademarks.
HISSTANK learns that recently Hasbro has applied for the trademark “ARASHIKAGE” and its associated logo as well as for the trademark “NINJA LIGHTNING”.
“ARASHIKAGE” title is under the trademark serial numbers of 85543771 and 85543767 at the United States Patent & Trademark Office for “Goods and Services: Toy action figures, toy vehicles, and accessories for use therewith” and “Goods and Services: Clothing, footwear and headwear, namely, underwear, rainwear, sleepwear, coats, shirts, tops, jackets, jogging suits, warm-up suits, sweaters, sweatshirts, sweatpants, t-shirts, swimwear, dresses, pants, shorts, belts, caps, knit caps, hats, visors, scarves, mittens, gloves, headbands, wristbands, socks, slippers socks, boots, shoes, sneakers, sandals; masquerade costumes and masks sold in connection therewith” respectively.
The Arashikage Logo (pictured in this news post) is also for clothing and accessories under the trademark serial number of 85543764.
“NINJA LIGHTNING” is registered under the trademark serial number of 85543764 for “Goods and Services: Toy action figures, toy vehicles, and accessories for use therewith”.
Most likely the “ARASHIKAGE” trademark may very well be for the Costumes we saw recently.
“NINJA LIGHTNING” was the name of the Bike Snake Eyes toy came with, for the Valor vs. Venom toyline.

I think it is crazy how Hasblo can make a registered trademark for a rudimentary I Ching pictogram.
I hope the patent office disapproves this application as this can get many other people in legal troubles

let's see em TRY to take me tat!
This does pose a pretty interesting case since the symbol is from the I-Ching and it is like trying to trademark a letter of the alphabet.
