There is an Interview by Screenslam with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson; Roadblock of G. I. Joe: Retaliation, regarding the upcoming movie by Jon Chu.
Though the clip associated and what was mentioned is brief, this writer strongly believes that there is more to the interview judging by the look and feel of the setting. It is not unusual for entertainment sites to interview actors and publish them in a staggered manner. The recent plethora of statements from the Toy Fair actually came from one big Interview.
“We went through a really detailed training program. We worked a lot with the Navy SEALSs for a good amount of time, weapons handling to become more efficient in weapons and how we were going to enter a room and clear a room and things like that, but for me personally I shifted how I was training.” said The Rock. ”The studio came to me with the idea about starring in the movie and go in a different direction creatively, which really appealed to me.”
We may see more from the interview as we get close to the Release Date.

Cool to see another interview, but still, nobody is giving away much about the movie. They keep regurgitating the same stuff.

Hasbro/Paramount should be thanking their lucky stars that The Rock and Bruce Willis agreed to do this movie. That crap movie Journey 2: The Mysterious Island made lots of money I think and that probably had a lot to do with The Rock and it being a family friendly film. That formula should replicate itself with Retaliation IMO.

Rise of Cobra aka RoC made 302 million worldwide. Not to mention Journey 2 was a sequel so you expect it to do well. People forget that RoC did really well. Whether you liked it or not there's no denying the box office numbers.

^ True enough... but box office is almost always about the expectations game and ticket sales vs. the movie's budget.
I think ROC cost a lot and didn't make as much as was expected. Journey 2 cost less and made a lot.
And the first Journey movie Journey to the Center of the Earth is actually one of my fav movies, but it starred Brendan Fraser and I don't think it did too well at the box office. I doubt too many people who saw Journey 2 even saw the first one; I think the sequel's success had a lot to do with The Rock.
