I call this the "hey G.I. Joe Fans, this is the stuff we did when we gave a crap out this brand....look quick....oops..it's gone"
$600 for three extra figures added to the $50 exclusive set from SDCC..and you got to see some neat pictures. Now that I've seen this post, I got it all for free and I still feel cheated! I jest, but seriously, I really hope Hascon rides off into the sunset...never to return. You rode your cash cow for most of the Eighties and then banished them to the exterior halls of your brand convention. Hopefully Hasbro follows suit with Toys R Us, files bankruptcy, and goes away.

On a positive note I really loved the Warthog APC. As I was aging out of the line and felt at the same time that Joes were going far to Sci-Fi for my tastes I looked to the Warthog as cool throw back to an old school military vehicle, sans the yellow missiles on top! I even really liked the v3 Sgt Slaughter were as I never cared for the Joes own "Joan of Arc" before. I even made up a new personality for him, as not to be the over bearing character from the cartoons.

Cobra Bull would have made a nice compliment to the Crosssfire.

Damn CG those are some harsh words. I for one would not want to see hasbro or TRU go away. I would prefer Hasbro to find a place for Joe on shelves rather than close up shop Even if this means an entirely new GI JOE that no long resembles what I want it to be. Otherwise I fear GI JOE would end up in a state much like Thundercats. As for Tru I have 3 Stores near me and they all have good people working there. Not to mention I personally prefer them to Wal-Mart and Target. Mostly because I hate Wal-Mart and Target never has anything I want.
Back on topic the ticket prices were just to high for me. The 600 was too much IMO for what you were getting. I have the sdcc set so that had no extra appeal for me. I would have like the extra figures but was not a priority need. The book and Cells are really nice but again this wasn't anything I need. I am glad I got to see some pics though. I thought about just attending with a day pass but again to spend the 200 or so it would have cost to bring the family. I could do a whole lot more for less.

Hasbro refuses to accept two things that i fear will be there stubborn downfall in terms of the GI Joe Brand.
(1) refusal to accept their actual demographic is 35-50 year olds.
(2) kids don't play with a lot of toys period anymore, sadly. But kids and adults alike, purchase and play third person or first person shooter video games with decent storylines. And then their respective brands make movies based on those characters.
Hasbro refuses to adapt or even accept these mediums are true.
I totally get why CG was so mad in his post. We have so many rich file card developed characters, and no one in Hasbro understands how to use them, so they just push them aside.

Love the concept art, and it looks like the package had some nice art work and cels.

And 35-50 year olds who confuse the fact that because RAH's relevance is extinct with new consumers that there is not a new version of G.I. Joe that could be. Sorry, the 35-50 year olds are who are irrelevant to the future of G.I. Joe, not the millions of children in the toy buying range that Hasbro knows they need to reach for Joe to be relevant again.
