IDW has announced a ‘Pencils Down‘ for most (if not all) of its writers and artists due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Mr. Larry Hama has left the following Facebook post regarding the announcement by the publisher:
“ Just got ‘pencils down’ on a storyline I’ve been doing for 275 issues. This is a hiatus at present. I am wrapping up the end of ‘Snake Hunt’ so that it will be ready to go into the chute once the smoke clears.”
Comic industry is one of the industries which has been affected hard by the pandemic due to its distribution nature. With essential services taking up the front lines, comic book publishers are stepping back as a support and to minimize the loss.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of titles are going on hiatus. Diamond's website earlier this week said they have put shipping books to shops on hiatus.

Well, I waited out a 14 year hiatus...what's a few months?

The entire comic book industry is "on hiatus". Meaning it's dead, and not a moment too soon, either. Forget 275, I'll be surprised if IDW ever puts out another comic book again.
This is the best news of 2020. ARAH has been in need of a mercy killing for years now, and we don't even need to go into their other Joe and TF efforts. My fingers are crossed for all of Marvel and DC to fold over, too, so they'll finally stop pissing on the corpses of once great characters.

Ever since I was a kid I only ever read Joe comics and a few issues of other lines so I don’t have a sense of the industry but I suspect all the comics publishers are on hiatus due to COVID.
I don’t necessarily think this is specific to Joe, but that is a possibility.
