I think it's pretty cool that Hasbro is still using the DDP sword design all these years later. It's canon!
Anyone know the type of sword this is and this one is made out of plastic right?
1985 Snake Eyes's is a very elegant, sleek example of the type, with some really graceful lines that suggest an excellent weight and balance to the blade (the DDP version, by contrast, is just a mess), and it's interesting that Snake Eyes ended up with a medieval European type of sword rather than a katana. Like his grilled visor, it's somewhat evocative of a medieval knight, and makes me think that there was some very deliberate intent behind the "like a ninja but not quite a ninja" design of Snake Eyes' 1985 costume.
