Diamond Select Toys has put out new G.I. Joe ARAH MiniMates Series 1 and 2 and was nice enough to send over a set of each for us to do an unboxing. The sets come in a nice footlocker outer box with a window to display the cards. Each figure is individually carded with classic G.I. Joe ARAH art and even though they are small the have tons of weapons and gear that can be holstered or put into their proper backpacks.

Ha! Brings back memories of Fiddle Sticks that had 1 POA superheroes that had plastic shaped-bodies with the stickers of the super-hero on the sides.

Love these things!!! I'm a big Minimate collector anyway but with GI Joe on board I'm literally in heaven. There is such a large variety of compatible Minimate lines you can mix together or that display well together. I have already bought multiple sets on the Joe and Cobra side so I can keep a set carded but I'm really hoping they keep expanding this line to get out some army builders. Cobra Troopers, Crimson Guards, BATS and Eels...
I have a few Minimates shelves set up in my display area currently with DC, Marvel, Power Rangers, Transformers, Aliens, Predators, Star Trek, Walking Dead and a bunch of video game characters. They have D&D animated figures coming out soon as well. They are far more poseable and playable than you might expect and they make for super easy customs since everything pops apart and use universal joint connections. Legit have these three times over, out of box, in box, and then custom for my display shelf to be the 'GI Joe' I see in my head.
If anyone has extra scratch, I recommend them, wholly and completely.
Those look neat. I always thought Minimates were neat looking granted I don't have many myself aside from a few Marvel Zombies ones that are still at my mom's place. I would like to see what else Diamond Select does with GI Joe. Not sure if a line similar to Marvel Select or their Invincible line is in the realm of possibilities.
Two of my favorite things, Minimates and GI Joe!!! I spent the last 20 years making Joe custom Minimates , and I can finally stop since I?ll be getting real ones now. The mix and match feature for Minimates parts is the best. Maybe you wanna see what snake eyes would look like in destro?s uniform, or Duke, disguised as cobra Commander, or put everyone in black suits using the Pulp Fiction figures. Or make destro and the boys a bunch of ghostbusters or superheroes?. It?s endless what you can come up with since 99% of minimates use the same bodies and almost every part is interchangeable.
I can?t wait for more! Looking forward to some of my favorites, fingers crossed we?ll see Gung Ho and Firefly soon!
I?d also be pumped for exclusive box sets of specific episodes like ? The Viper? and the ?Cold Slither? episode costumes 😜

I agree completely with the mix and match aspect. Last night I actually added my joes to the display with a bunch of my Halo mates...had a couple rolling in the Warthog they put out even. Halo, Back to the Future, Knight Rider, Battlestar Galactica have all even put out small vehicles to go along with the figures. Really just a great fun line of toys in my opinion and now they have added my favorite toy brand.

minimates have been my focus in collecting for a while now but with this gi joe line i really feel i'm getting the best of the best!!
hope the line continues. i love what they released so far but i need at least a few army builders (fingers crossed for alley vipers)
