The HissTank.com ground crew on location at SDCC 2023 took a trip to the G.I. Joe Super7 Pop-Up Store. Looks like Cobra fully took over this location for Super7. Here you can find everything from t-shirts, Reaction-Ultimates action figures and coins.

    Wow, that is so cool! There are soo many cool ideas they implemented there. It's amazing they do this for a "pop-up" store. Those ultimates are growing on me.

    Love that Commander painting. Hopefully they’ll have prints available online after the con. The coins are fun too. Super7 is not getting enough praise for this effort!

    Their design game is top notch. I constantly see stuff they've done and think how cool it is and how I want to incorporate it into my own customs and displays. It's not just the product either - they go ABOVE AND BEYOND with real reverence and a seeming passion for the core concept. There are lots of companies that are competent but don't care, and plenty that are passionate but not entirely competent but Super7 have a rare marriage of passion and competence.

    When my ex was going to art school I realized that art is like any other job. Out of a class of 50 people you may have -

    25 that just get by
    10 that are highly competent but don't really care about anything but their own esoteric interests which may never align with the work they do
    10 that are highly passionate but not highly competent
    5 that are passionate and competent

    I think Super7 has a higher than average number of the last rare group of those who are passionate and competent. Hasbro - being a giant company - most likely prefers pure technical competence over passion.

    "Passion" as a word here is shorthand for that otherwise difficult to express quality of being truly present, involved, feeling and caring about the things you're working on in such a way that they'd be doing it in their free time if it wasn't work.
