It’s go time! Most of us have received our G.I. Joe Classified Series Haslab Cobra H.I.S.S. by now, but being that we are HISSTANK.com, I wanted to do up the gallery for this masterpiece the best I could. Came in mid December for me, and I left it out on the shoot table and did it little by little as I could during the holidays and into the new year. Almost a solid month of daily playing around with the piece. It went from standard gallery, to a Cobra staging base ready to launch an attack on G.I. Joe, to a Fire Team 788 set, then to a 2023 group shot (which is no joke, like 60+ figures), and then hey why not, group shots for the other years (thanks new mod DarthBrett!). And since my room looked like a Classified factory exploded at that point, some fun at the end (see inside).
So, read on to check out the HISSTANK.com in-hand gallery and thoughts for the G.I. Joe Classified Haslab H.I.S.S. Tank! (Warning, pic heavy post!)

• Treads move, function well.
• Interior well done, seat and weapons rack perfect.
• Paint, tampos, finish all top quality.

• Turret area also slightly tips forward at times.
Quick Thoughts
F YEAH. Worth the wait. I think I placed my order within the first 30 seconds, so waiting until December to get my hands on it was killer. Tried to stay spoiler free. But once it was here I cracked it open ASAP and have been messing around with it for a month. For now, my second is still in it’s plastic prison but once I rejig some space here will get it out too.
I’m not going to go too hard into an in depth review here. Multiple other folks do that, an it’s been out a bit. Just going to share some thoughts as I type. Bottom line is I love it, it’s rare that I get a piece (any brand) in hand these days where it completely satisfies me, where I’m not working an internal checklist of “that’s not right, shoulda done that, they cheaped out here, etc”. But the HISS does the job.
Classified has been a great ride since 2020. From the days of hunting Cobra Island Troopers in a 100 mile radius, during COVID no less, to now, it’s been solidly entertaining. As other brands swing back and forth, Classified has held steady and ramped up each year. As I dealt with some personal issues, I was grabbing but not opening for a stretch. Last year, I finally cracked my stack, and then the ONSLAUGHT of 2023 kicked in. I think more figures dropped in 2023 than in the whole line before that! And it capped out with the HISS (almost), a worthy end cap. I now have everything open, and shelved up for the first time in years. The HISS is the centerpiece, and I have no complaints of it taking up 25 figures worth of space. :)
Everything about it was well done. It’s imposing. The lights work great. The multiple configurations give you options, a little new with a little classic, your choice. I currently have it classic style, but do really like the new add-ons. My second one will get decked out like that eventually. Internals, with weapon racks, seats, and lights – awesome. Bringing 6 year old imaginations to reality. I could go into super technical details here but the summary is – I dug it and it’s an awesome piece.
The figures – also great. Very OG in colors, the red on the tank drivers pop. Dig the new female driver, adds some variance. Cobra Commander – PERFECT. I personally don’t need complete rehashes of ARAH or 25th, I prefer my Classified to be new tech with hints of old – but the Commander here hits all the feels. Color is great too, he really stands out against the mostly muted Classified color palette. As Cobra Commander should! I eagerly await 10 more colors of this guy.
Fire Team 788 – was hype for these guys, and they did arrive soon after the HISS. However, I was less impressed by them. All of them had the gummy plastic, weapons and joints. In addition, the muted red that matches the tank reds – don’t mesh well with the bright red on the drivers. When posing them all out together, they seem disconnected. I would love another release in driver red. Overall though, I love the idea of the 788 Fire Team and hope that continues in the future.
To wrap up – HISSTANK.com approves! Site admin DESTRO agrees, he got 5 and he’s slowly working on cracking them all. I couldn’t be happier with it and Classified as a line at this point, so Hasbro, keep it all coming. Maybe space it out a bit though. :). Our wallets are hurtin!
Now, the pics! I’ve got about 260 or so shots below of the HISS, Fire Team, Fancy Shots, Group Shots, and my Classified man (and woman) pile, before the clean up. Hope you dig em! You can right click/long press to save or open in a new tab, and zoom in. These shots are much larger than what the site’s layout allows for!
Some shots feature physical dioramas courtesy of Big Bad Toy Store. Thanks to them, and check the link for some cool stuff!
