GI Joe Pursuit Of Cobra Bravo Wolfhound With Whiteout Preview
Steel Brigade was one of the few ‘Tankers to get some Pursuit Of Cobra goodness today, unlike a certain unnamed admin here who should have listened to his own advice and not rush out because he found nothing. Anyways, the Wolf Hound with Whiteout was one of the bravo vehicles that Steel Brigade was able to obtain, and he has posted some sneak preview images of this vehicle.
It’s the return of the iconic Snow Cat, albeit with different parts than the original. Nonetheless, some aspects reminiscent of the vintage line are intact:
- Marbleized plastic
- Requires assembly
- Color scheme is reminiscent of the original

Possible GI Joe Pursuit Of Cobra 2011 Jungle Viper V2
2011 is months away, but the latter half of GI Joe Pursuit Of Cobra is set to be released by spring. Now we’ve seen some new tooling debut in the 1st wave(s) of Pursuit Of Cobra, be it from the conventions, official Hasbro imagery, prepro images, et al. By now most everyone realizes that Hasbro has to recoup the money invested in tooling said molds, especially new ones, and thus this is the reason for repaints and retooled molds. It’s something that by now, the fandom is used to.
One figure that sticks out is the Jungle Viper designed by John Warden. This figure was a shocking, yet very pleasant surprise at JoeCon 2009, and will be released later this fall(a year after it’s unveiling). It doesn’t stop there. Will 1 be enough? Certainly not(in the eyes of fans) as most of the ‘Tankers here want to buy multiples to army build(and some already have from auction sites). It’s evocative of the Night Viper but with a ton more stuff, especially new weapons/accessories.
Could another version be possible? Perhaps. While perusing the Pursuit Of Cobra wave 1 listings at Entertainment Earth, nearly every figure in wave 1 has designation numbers, except for the Alley Viper. Okay, so this might mean that the Alley Viper we are getting single carded, is the only Alley Viper we’ll see in the near future(bear in mind that the one with the Cobra Fury is labeled Alley Viper Officer). So then the listings for wave 2 were looked at, and noticeably the Jungle Viper V1 listing is there. Okay so a Jungle Assault Jungle Viper is in wave 2 but we knew that. Did we know it was a V1? Yes. Does this mean another might be planned? Would anyone put it past Hasbro to repaint this already fan-favorite army building troop decimator? Judging by Hasbro’s actions in the past few years, it’s a high possibility, especially since this is a new mold that hasn’t been used much.
*BTW, it seems that Hasbro is planning to release more repainted/retooled figures in the future, as noted by the BotCon 2010 reports at sister site TFW2005. Many of the new figures announced this past Sunday already have planned repaints with new head sculpts, some as different characters. It isn’t a stretch to see Hasbro start this with GI Joe; in many ways it already has started.*
Most importantly, is a Jungle Viper V2 something all of you would want? [Read more…]
