Director James Bobin has been chosen to direct a Live Action Movie based on Hasbro‘s Action Man property. The movie is planned to be produced by Paramount Players; a studio division of Paramount Pictures.
Action Man is a series of action figures launched in Britain in 1966 by Palitoy as a licensed copy of Hasbro’s G.I. Joe (Movable Fighting Man series) in the United States. Hasbro later reintroduced the franchise back in 1993 (much like how they did for G. I. Joe: A Real American Hero), and it eventually grew to become a multimedia franchise consisting of toys, books, video games, two television programs and a comic book published by Panini Comics.
James Bobin is famous for directing the two recent Muppets movies (2011 and 2014) and Alice Through the Looking Glass.
