Toys R Us Liquidation Sales To Begin on Thursday, March 22nd 2018
According to USA Today, Toys R Us will begin the liquidation process on Thursday, March 22nd 2018. The current plan is for all stores to be closed by the end of June 2018. No word, at this time, how deep the discounts will be or which products will be initially discounted. Here’s what the article had to say:
“The timetable was disclosed Tuesday at a hearing in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Richmond, Va. The toy superstore chain, which last week announced plans to dissolve its U.S. operations, came seeking court approval for its liquidation sale plan.
Some store may close earlier, he said, if inventory sells out faster.
The company’s distribution centers, which supply the stores, will close before the stores do, said Bill Kosturos, vice chairman of U.S. restructuring for Alvarez & Marsal, one of the companies advising Toys R Us in the liquidation. Otherwise, the operation is expected to take 14 weeks.”

G.I. Joe Movie 3 D.J. Caruso To Direct The Future Of The Brand – No Pressure
Not that long ago rumors were floating around that D.J. Caruso was chosen to be the director of the next G.I. Joe Movie. Recently AMC news ran a clip saying he was in contract talks to be our next official director for G.I. Joe 3 the live action movie. All signs are pointing to D.J. being the future of the franchise and the direction the brand will take.
D.J. Caruso has directed episodes of the legendary TV series The Shield, Eagle Eye, Disturbia xXx: Return of Xander Cage and many others. If you have ever watched The Return of Xander Cage, you can see there is lots of side by side fighting with a diverse list of characters. So he already has a G.I. Joe style film under his belt and he understand action enough that this could really be the choice we have all been waiting for.
I’m actually half way excited. Sorry to sound so jaded, but this brand requires an intimate understanding of it’s vast history in the same way Star Wars is treated. The unique individual uniforms help tell the story of each character, same goes for the vehicles. A Real American Hero is sacred to the fans and to be honest what everybody is expecting (Modern Update).
I’m not sure what direction he will take the film in but for me it needs to feel like home. The last two films have missed that mark in both Tone and Style. G.I. Joe is an epic tale just like Star Wars is. Are you going to make a Legendary film series or just another summer movie that will be long forgotten two weeks after release? He now has a brand with rich history and lore to further develop. The options and characters are endless. I wish I was in your shoes.
What do you think of D.J. Caruso directing G.I. Joe 3? Let us know after the jump.
In Response To Christopher Eccleston Loathing G.I. Joe
In Response To Christopher Eccleston Loathing G.I. Joe
This Actor should never be allowed near a G.I. Joe Movie set ever again and would never be welcome by the fans after that rant. He comes off as if the role was beneath his feet. I don’t think Eccleston understands the gravity of the role and what could have been. It’s like getting the role of Darth Vader and hating on the role front to back. You had a chance to be a part of a killer franchise universe as one of it’s greatest characters and you pooped all over it. The least you could have done was work out for the role, I mean have you seen Destro? Your just another reason why this movie franchise needs a deep reboot-reset.
Upcoming G. I. Joe Movie Listed At UK Film Distributors Association
Film Distributors’ Association Ltd. (FDA), the trade body for theatrical film distributors in the United Kingdom, has listed upcoming Paramount Pictures movies on their official website.
The list features theatrical releases until the end of year 2021. What’s important for us on the list is the new G. I. Joe live action movie, which is simply titled as G I Joe for a UK release. This is the first time this movie appears on an official website.
The release date remains unchanged for Friday 27th March, 2020, unlike Transformers: Bumblebee which has received a revised release date for UK.
The movie is listed for a 2D release. It is not marked for a 3D release, yet.
Christopher Eccleston Loathed Working On G. I. Joe: Rise Of Cobra
In a recent interview with The Guardian, British actor Christopher Eccleston stated that he loathed working on G. I. Joe: Rise Of Cobra.
Mr. Eccleston who played the role of Cobra arms dealer Destro, had few choice words up his sleeves to describe his dissatisfaction.
“Working on something like GI Joe was horrendous”, he says, emphasizing that the responsibility was his and not anyone else’s. “I just wanted to cut my throat every day. And Thor? Just a gun in your mouth. Gone in 60 Seconds was a good experience. Nic Cage is a gentleman and fantastic actor. But GI Joe and Thor were … I really paid for being a whore those times.”
The first movie of the franchise didn’t exactly took off with the general audience or fans. Drastic changes were made to the second movie to rectify matters. Nevertheless, the poor performance of the series led to a long hiatus which will be broken next year with the principal photography of a new G. I. Joe movie, slated to release on March 27th, 2020.
