The second book of the G.I. Joe Classified young-adult novel series is out today on physical and digital storefronts.
Titled Revenge of the Ninja, the story picks up where the first book left off.
Synopsis (from the back of the book):
“With Principal Zartan gone and the Lyre XR devices under control, everything seems safe in Springfield again. Now that the Anti-Venom Coalition has officially recruited Shana (aka Scarlett), she and the Average Joes feel readier than ever to take down Cobra for good. They even have the Arashikages—an undercover clan of ninjas—in their corner.
When the dojo is attacked and the ninjas are forced into hiding, Scarlett, Stan, and Julien are left to defend the town on their own. Not even Scarlett’s best friend, Ichi no Zoro-me, can help. With a militant principal installed at Springfield Academy, Scarlett does her best to uncover Cobra’s plans. But the deerper she digs, the more she discovers about the Arashikages’ true mission. As Scarlett begins to question the ninjas’ intentions, she finds herself faced with an impossible decision. To save the innocent people of Springfield, will she have to stand up against her found family?”

I'm going to read it, but even back when I was the target age for this book, I would have felt condecended to. Who the hell wants to have a bunch of ordinary kids watering down thier GIJoe?
Unless one of them is named Billy . . .
Now there are some possibilities.

Hmmm. I'm not too interested in the kids in the book but it sounds interesting enough to make me want to give it a try. My brain will refuse to imagine the Joes in anything but their classic gear but that's the fun of novels.

I was interested until I heard about the kids

I’ll stick with the comics, I’ve never read a whole book in my life sadly, got through 5 pages of a Rambo novel once lol for a school assignment, wish I could get through a book though, really do!

It sounds like a full blown treatment of the old PSAs - kids find trouble, then Joes jump out from behind the bushes and offer advice.
Not to be critical, but wouldn't the actual adventures of gi joe make for a better and more exciting story? Just a thought...

Actually, if there will be enough illustration from Phil Noto, I'll get a copy for the art alone.
