We have discovered a brand new listing of a novel series based on the popular G.I. Joe Classified line of action figures by Hasbro.
Titled as G.I. Joe: Classified (Book One), the first book of the series is planned to be released in August across multiple countries worldwide. Written by Jon Skovron, the artwork for the book is handled by none other than Phil Noto.
Official Description:
“In this action-packed series starter, a group of ordinary kids finds themselves facing extraordinary circumstances . . . and with the help of mentors like Duke, Scarlett, and Roadblock, they’ll find what it means to be a team, rise to the occasion, and save the day when nobody else can. A heart–pounding thrill ride from start to finish that will enthrall G.I. Joe fans and action-adventure readers alike.”
Writer Jon Skovron is the author of several Young Adult fantasy novels, including Misfit, Man Made Boy, and This Broken Wondrous World.
Artist Phil Noto is no stranger to the G.I. Joe franchise. Mr. Noto’s latest entry to G.I. Joe is the packaging artwork for G.I. Joe Classified Series Scarlett (news post image). We will likely see Duke, Roadblock, and many others in Phil Noto’s signature art style.

Sweet. I'm an avid reader, so this will be perfect.

I'm going to read it, but even back when I was the target age for this book, I would have felt condecended to. Who the hell wants to have a bunch of ordinary kids watering down thier GIJoe?
Unless one of them is named Billy . . .
Now there are some possibilities.

Hmmm. I'm not too interested in the kids in the book but it sounds interesting enough to make me want to give it a try. My brain will refuse to imagine the Joes in anything but their classic gear but that's the fun of novels.

I was interested until I heard about the kids

I’ll stick with the comics, I’ve never read a whole book in my life sadly, got through 5 pages of a Rambo novel once lol for a school assignment, wish I could get through a book though, really do!
Ako Roshi says
It sounds like a full blown treatment of the old PSAs - kids find trouble, then Joes jump out from behind the bushes and offer advice.
Not to be critical, but wouldn't the actual adventures of gi joe make for a better and more exciting story? Just a thought...

Actually, if there will be enough illustration from Phil Noto, I'll get a copy for the art alone.
