We have received a press release from Canada’s Galaxyland theme park, stating that Hasbro will upgraded its rides to include several Hasbro brands and retail counters.
G.I. Joe franchise will be prominently featured in the newly revamped Galaxyland.
“Galaxyland will undergo a transformation using Hasbro’s iconic portfolio of brands throughout the one hundred and sixty-five thousand square foot indoor amusement park facility. The design will include widely recognized brands such as MY LITTLE PONY, MONOPOLY, G.I. JOE, NERF, PLAY-DOH, BATTLESHIP, OPERATION, and many others.
Hasbro’s beloved brands will come to life with over 25 rides, games and attractions covering an area of three and a half acres. The Park will also feature a unique Hasbro retail experience as well as themed food service establishments for fans of all ages to enjoy. Upon completion, the Park will reopen as “Galaxyland powered by Hasbro”.”
It is interesting to note that Hasbro has specifically chosen Snake Eyes to be on the title image issued with the press release.
Galaxyland already has a ride called ‘Mindbender’. They just need to award a doctorate to it and it’s all set. We are joking here, of course.
This new theme park is the second one announced for Hasbro; following the first at Melaka which is a water park.

Don't forget that tieland has a problem with the "women" there. Call me a transphobe all you want, but that part of Thai "culture" weirds me out.

The proposed Hasbro themed water park at Kuala Linggi of Malacca (in Malaysia) seemed like a sad joke. The poverty, mosquitoes, and crocs in that mudwater river there make it seem like a vacation from hell, and makes we wonder if the Meridian Group will even complete that project. I wish them luck.
But Galaxyland inside the West Edmonton Mall (the largest shopping mall in North America) is already established and successful, having been there over 35 years (formerly Fantasyland until Disney forced the change in name). Doing business with the Ghermezian family (Triple Five Group) might open other opportunities for Hasbro. The Triple Five Group also has the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota (remember the 2005 G.I. Joe Convention anyone?), and are building the American Dream project in the New Jersey Meadowlands.
I don’t know that the Mindbender coaster will ever be G.I. Joe themed, but Galaxyland might redo their “Quirks in the Works” spaceship presently themed as taken over by the alien Quirks, where guests zap as many aliens as they can in the dark.
Instead, imagine the attraction having the red and blue lasers of G.I. Joe battling villainous Cobra elements with their laser zappers. That seems more fitting for a kid’s G.I. Joe brand theme.
