Cryptid Toys Army Alphas Kickstarter Campaign Has Been Cancelled

Posted on March 22, 2016 at 7:17 am by C.I.A.D. under Compatible Military Toys

Sad news for those that were supporting the Cryptid Toys Army Alphas Kickstarter Campaign. Cryptid Toys has advised that the campaign has been cancelled and has posted the following notice on their Facebook Page:

Kickstarter Cancelled For Now But WILL Be Back Soon!

Hello All,

My apologies for the delay in communicating what has been going on with this Kickstarter recently. Ran into a couple snags, mainly with pledging for the pre-orders that were taken outside of this campaign, that do not seem to be something that Kickstarter will be able to accommodate. Unfortunately, this does impact the campaign tremendously. It has also been hard to find the necessary time to maintain regular updates and keep you all informed due to some real life problems beyond the Kickstarter that arose and needed to be taken care of. Because of these reasons, this campaign has been cancelled but WILL be back and better than ever.

There have been several good things that have come from this Kickstarter exposure and the support that many fans have shown has been incredible. Army Alphas will not become a reality at this time, but things are looking quite good for the near future! A new factory with much smaller minimum order quantities (MOQ’s) has been secured which will help lower the funding goal significantly. The input that you all have given will be used to improve these figures so that more of what you guys want to see will be present. There will be changes across the board and several changes that should make people much more pleased.

I’ve heard the desire for additional weapons, the love for the blacked out ‘Night Ops’ style SWAT figures, and the desire for the repainted figures to offer something new in addition to simply being a color swap. Another Kickstarter will be launched in the near future so continue to give your feedback on what you’d like to see and those wishes will be taken into consideration.

Thank you all for your support of this campaign and hope to see you during the second shot at making this line of figures a reality.

Sincerely,

Austin G
Cryptid Toys

We wish Austin and the team at Cryptid Toys the best of luck and look forward to seeing this campaign get fully funded sometime in the future. What are your thoughts about the cancellation? Sound off after the break.

Cryptid Toys SWAT Soldier, Size Comparison and Painted Desert Solider Prototype Images

Posted on January 30, 2016 at 8:29 pm by C.I.A.D. under Compatible Military Toys

The team at Cryptid Toys have shared a few updates on their Facebook Page that we wanted to bring your way! First up is a look at their SWAT figure without it’s vest. Needless to say, their Blue SWAT figure will definitely be used as a Cobra Trooper on my shelf!

Next up is a size comparison with other 6″ figures, namely DCUC Green Lantern and DC Icons Flash. As you can see, these new figures will be the perfect height to interact with other lines of comparable scale. For those concerned that the figures might not sit well, don’t be – The “gap” in the legs was addressed in the comments section on CT’s Facebook page. The figure will be adjusted to ensure the legs sit together when the figure is in a sitting position.

Finally posted are neww pictures of the 6″ Desert Soldier painted prototype! Quick reminder: All final figures will have bicep swivels, double jointed elbows, and thicker thighs.

You can check out the latest images and join us for discussion already in progress after the break. If you haven’t done so already, make sure to head over to the Cryptid Toys Facebook Page and give it a like!

Cryptid Toys Kickstarter Update And New Product Image

Posted on January 8, 2016 at 8:47 pm by C.I.A.D. under Compatible Military Toys

The team at Cryptid Toys have kicked off the new year by bringing us a new update via their Facebook Page! For those that have been looking forward to this line of 6″ Military figures, then be excited because it sounds like great things are on the horizon!

Here’s the latest scoop –

Thanks for your patience guys! Things are still on track for the KS campaign to go up soon. Looking like next month for sure! Hopefully everyone’s wallets have recovered from the Articulated Icons campaign and the holidays. First thing, the Soldier/SWAT body will have double jointed elbows and bicep swivels now. Holding weapons should be much easier now! See the picture in this post. Also, I have to buy a camera since my old one crapped out on me a while back and my phone’s camera isn’t cutting it. So there will be painted SWAT and other proto pics up in a few days.

We’ve mirrored the latest image shared, showing the Soldier/SWAT figures double jointed elbows and bicep swivels. PLEASE NOTE: Although the prototypes do not reflect these new arms, the final product definitely will. We’ll keep you posted as new info is received. Make sure to join us on the boards for discussion already in progress.

Cryptid Toys Desert Solider Painted Prototype Images and Q and A

Posted on October 2, 2015 at 11:41 pm by C.I.A.D. under Compatible Military Toys

Austin from Cryptid Toys stopped by the boards to answer questions and comments HissTank.com forum members had regarding the upcoming Cryptid Toys Kickstarter Campaign and to share images of their Desert Soldier Painted Prototype! The images give us a fantastic look at the high level of detail on the figure and serves to whet our appetite until we can get our hands on the action figure!

Cryptid Toys will deliver the intricately sculpted, super articulated 1/12 scale (6″) action figures that the collector community craves. Having been an action figure collectors, customizers, and enthusiasts for many years, the team behind Cryptid toys decided it was time to make the jump to an action figure manufacturing, since toy companies were not producing the figures that many collectors have been clamoring for. Working with some of the most talented sculptors in the business who have not only worked on some of the most popular brands, but also with leaders in the industry, these figures will be brought to life from concepts to high quality action figures.
