Street Fighter X G.I. Joe #1 hits the shelf tomorrow, and it’s awesome! I will be the first person to admit that I didn’t think this was going to work, but I was wrong. The Street Fighter G.I. Joe line came into effect a long time after I had moved away from toys as a kid. However I was definitely playing Street Fighter II on Super Nintendo with all my teenage friends. I was a huge fan of the game and G.I. Joe but not in the same Universe. Until now that is! The book is action packed, and mixes the two universes together in a more Street Fighter way. Match ups like Snake Eyes vs. Crimson Viper and Baroness vs. Rufus will keep you wanting more. Good news is there is a ton of match ups coming in future books as well as a sub-plot that includes a Macguffin device. IDW nailed this one. Awesome art, awesome covers, and what seems to be a good story to kick things off.

While at JoeCon 2015 I noticed a huge problem among the G.I. Joe action figure collecting community. It seems a lot of us are not currently reading IDW G.I.Joe Comics, and for the most part have tried and gave up, or just not reading at all. So in an attempt to get people back into the swing of reading IDW G.I. Joe Comics, HISSTANK.com will be posting up articles that center around updating the community on what to read from past series, and issues leading up to current IDW G.I. Joe content.
First up is the powerhouse series G.I. Joe: Cobra written by Mike Costa and Christos Gage with artist Antonio Fuso. For any seasoned G.I. Joe fan and collector, the G.I. Joe: Cobra series offers a great starting point to get back into reading G.I. Joe Comics. This series is the best written G.I. Joe comic series of the modern collecting time frame, and of IDW’s ownership of the G.I. Joe brand. This book should also be looked at for Movie Script consideration, or at the minimum, a “Netflix Daredevil” style TV series.
HissTank forum member jinx723 rounds out his G.I.Joe Retaliation Wave 4 reviews, this time bringing us none other than Kim Arashikage! Better known as Jinx, Kim made her first appearance in the Marvel run of G.I.Joe comics and was later included in the animated G.I.Joe movie.
